Virtual Classroom Exam Proctoring

Schedule, reschedule, or cancel your proctored final exam session with MY Real Estate School.

To schedule, reschedule, or cancel a session, call us at 205.822.9322

Office hours are Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM Central Time. You can also email info@alabamarealestateclass.com with your name, the email you use for the course, and two or three preferred dates and times. Your session is confirmed when you receive a confirmation email with your Zoom link. All session times are Central Time (CT).

Proctoring sessions fill up in advance. If you fail to appear for your session, cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice, or are ineligible to test, you will need to schedule a new session and a $25 rescheduling fee applies. If you are more than 10 minutes late to your session, it will be counted as a failure to appear.

Am I eligible to schedule?

You may schedule your proctored final exam once you have completed all 29 lessons and passed every lesson quiz, passed the State Exam Simulator with 80% or higher, and your course access period is still active. Please schedule your session for a date within your access period, which is shown in the LMS under the course on your home page.

What is Virtual Classroom Proctoring?

Some regulatory agencies require students to take a proctored, end-of-course final exam. In some instances, the exam must be proctored by the education provider.

Many states are now allowing for virtual classroom proctoring versus live in-person proctoring. Virtual proctoring works in much the same way, but instead of meeting your proctor in a physical classroom, your exam will be proctored in MY Real Estate School’s virtual classroom on Zoom.

What happens on my virtually proctored exam day?

  1. Enter the virtual classroom using the Zoom link in your confirmation email at least five minutes before your session is scheduled to begin. Late-arriving students may be subject to the rescheduling fee.
  2. Download the Zoom Desktop Client before your session and have a microphone, speakers or a headset, and a video camera (webcam). The proctor must be able to see and hear you at all times (and vice versa).
  3. You will be asked to scan your camera around your testing area so the proctor can confirm that you do not have any exam aids available (open books, additional monitors, etc.). You may use a basic calculator and one blank sheet of paper for math-related questions only. Writing down words, notes, or test questions is not allowed.
  4. You will be asked to share your screen so the proctor can confirm that you do not have additional browser tabs open that might aid in your exam.
  5. You must have a state-issued identification card. You will be asked to hold it up to your camera so the proctor can confirm your identity.
  6. To launch your exam: the Final Course Exam in the LMS is password-protected. The proctor will give you the exam password during your session, and it must be entered in the presence of the proctor each time the exam is attempted.
  7. Once in the exam, you will have 210 minutes to answer 120 questions. The proctor remains in the virtual classroom for your entire attempt.
  8. After you submit the exam, you and the proctor will confirm the identity and academic-integrity affirmation, and the proctor records the attempt on the school’s proctoring log.
  9. With a passing score (80% or higher), the school reviews your course activity record and releases your completion certificate, normally within one business day.
  10. Your proctor will give you permission to exit the virtual classroom. Leaving the Zoom meeting exits you from the virtual classroom.

What if I do not pass the first time?

  1. Alabama allows two attempts at the course final exam. Each attempt must be proctored, and the questions will be presented in a different random order. If you are unsuccessful on an attempt, you must schedule a new proctoring session for your next attempt.
  2. To schedule a session for an additional attempt, call us at 205.822.9322.

MY Real Estate School exists to prepare Alabamians for successful, ethical careers in real estate.
