⏱️ Course Completion & Timing Policy

60-Hour Alabama Salesperson Pre-License Course
MY Real Estate School  ·  AREC School License #69695

Course Hours & How They’re Counted

This course delivers the 60 clock hours of instruction required by the Alabama Real Estate Commission (AREC). Instructional time is composed of video instruction, reading, and assessments, and your activity is tracked by the learning platform to verify hours.

  • Videos play in real time. Fast-forwarding is disabled — only actual viewing time counts toward instructional hours.
  • Daily maximum: AREC grants credit for no more than 6 instructional hours per calendar day. Time beyond 6 hours in a day does not accelerate your completion.
  • Practical minimum timeline: because of the daily cap, the course cannot be completed in fewer than 10 calendar days.

Your Completion Window

You have one (1) year from your date of enrollment to complete this course, as required by AREC. Course access ends when your window expires.

If your enrollment expires before you complete the course, you must re-enroll to continue. Progress from an expired enrollment cannot be applied toward the 60-hour requirement. (See our Refund & Cancellation Policy for the financial terms that apply.)

How You Progress

  • Sequential learning: lessons unlock in order. You must complete each lesson’s topics and pass its quiz before moving to the next.
  • Quiz mastery: each lesson quiz requires a score of at least 70%. Quizzes may be retaken; each attempt draws a fresh random selection of questions from the lesson’s question bank, and every question provides an explanation of the correct answer.
  • Orientation acknowledgement: the course begins with a required orientation and acknowledgement confirming your identity and acceptance of course policies.

The Final Examination

  • The course concludes with a proctored final examination. Proctoring procedures, scheduling, and identification requirements are described in the “Exam Proctoring and Instructions” lesson.
  • A score of 70% or higher is required to pass, consistent with AREC standards.
  • Photo identification is verified before the examination begins.
  • If you do not pass, you may retake the examination after reviewing course material; each attempt presents a different random selection of questions. Retakes must occur within your one-year enrollment window.

After You Finish

  • Upon passing the final exam, the School issues your certificate of completion and reports your completion as required for licensure.
  • Plan your state exam promptly: Alabama requires you to take the state licensing examination within 6 months of completing this course.
  • After passing the state exam, you apply for your temporary license (within 90 days) and must complete the 30-hour post-license course within your first year to receive your original license.

Interruptions & Extensions

If a documented hardship (medical emergency, military deployment, or similar) prevents you from completing within your window, contact us before your enrollment expires. We will work with you within the limits AREC regulations allow.
