Activity Types

Throughout your course, you’ll encounter many different types of activities. This proven method reinforces content and increases retention through active, inquiry-based learning. Activity types you’ll see will include:

  • Multiple choice: Choose the correct answer/s from the available options.
  • True/false: Choose whether each statement is true or false.
  • Complete the story: Select words to complete sentences.
  • Matching: Pair the choice with the correct matching term or phrase.
  • Sort: Select phrases associated with the category.
  • Branching: Advance through several connected multiple choice questions that build upon one another.
  • Poll: Choose the option that best describes your opinion.
  • Forum: Type in your answer, and see what other students have submitted as their answers, as well.

Understanding how each activity works is likely to save you time and ease your way as you move through the course, so check out (and bookmark!) your resource for examples of each activity type.
